Just creating this thread for people to post expansion lists. You can start posting after the deadline and trading is closed!
RULES:
Speaking of expansion.... We will be having an expansion draft! Aaron Williamson will be the GM of the new Sharks franchise! Rules are as follows:
a. Existing teams can protect seven forwards, three defensemen and one goaltender, or you can choose to not protect a goalie, and protect an additional forward or defenseman. You can also do 4 Forwards 4 Defensemen and 1 Goalie.
b. All players who have played 125 games or less of pro and would still be at least 22 years of age or younger during the following season are exempt from protection. Players who would be under 22 years of age the following season, who have played in 126 games or more must be included on protection lists, as well as any player period who would be 23 or older during the following season.
c. Players who are 23 years of age or older on prospect lists during the following season must be included as part of the protection list, as they are not exempt
d. Each new team would have TWO UFA re-signing slot that can be used on a player drafted in the expansion draft, and would have one week to sign the player. Also, the expansion team would NOT be allowed to trade this player until one week before the trade deadline, as it would be treated as if they signed them in free agency
e. Each expansion team has to select a minimum of 9 forwards, 4 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders
f. Every team must have a player picked from it.
g. Players who are retiring are ineligible to be picked
h. The expansion draft would also happen BEFORE trading opened up again. Trading would re-open again immediately after. So, if you wanted to position yourself better for the expansion draft, you would have to do it before the previous season's trade deadline.
i. Any player with rookie status in season 2 will be exempt.
