I think Peca, Lehtinen and Manny Fernandez all need to move up in OV and/or grade. I also think Lappy is too high. Just my initial feeling giving it the once over.

^73A - Sergei Gonchar
#16 all time points by dman with 811 and 18th with 1301 games played. Better offensive stats than Scott Niedermeyer (who was rated 74A in the 91 draft). I would not say Gonchar is equal to Scotty, but not far behind and deserves the bump.

^73A - Alexei Yashin
The contract is what killed his NHL career. I would put him equal to the other Alexei, Kovalev at 73a (stats are very similar, although I would argue Yashin was the better enigmatic Russian).

^73A/20 or 72A/19 - Martin Straka
Given his overage I would bump him up to 73a, or since he was 19 at NHL draft, drop his age -1 year.

^67B - Eric Cairns
In part because the 2nd round is full of garbage I don't think it would be far off to rate him next to Cale Hulse.

On second thought, since there are no A levels in the 2nd-3rd, perhaps make the enforcers all As? Thinking Eric Cairs, Cale Hulse, Andrei Nazarov, and Donald Brashear could all be 67A. None of them are of the talent to get high reward B rolls but all of them were legit NHLers in the gritty era.

Consider adding trio of overage Russian stars age 26-28, or maybe add to free agency?:

I think Manny Fernandez needs to be looked at and needs at least a 1 OV, if not 2 OV bump. Fernandez was twice a top-10 finisher in Verona voting and twice won the Jennings trophy for fewest goals allowed. For him to be in the same area as Steve Shields and Jamie McLennon from the ‘91 draft I don’t think is right. McLennon was actually Fernandez’s backup in Fernandez’s rookie season.

He was always in 1a/1b platoons, so I don’t think he should be too high, but he was still the 1a in that platoon more often than not.
